1 SIDE TO THE NSDAP CAPE CLASP-RARE. The NSDAP cape would appear to be extremely rare as Clark does not show an example of an existing specimen. And now that I think about it, I don't even remember seeing a period photo of one being worn. This example is different to the example shown in Jeff Clark's book. It is two piece gold aluminum of the highest quality. It is the catch side & the catch features an oak leaf motif. It has a silver aluminum backing plate with 4 gold colored flat pins. The example shown in Jeff's book is one piece, with oak leaf borders & a rope pattern on the catch. The eagle's wings also have a different design. Why the difference-I don't know. This is a very rare piece & a gem if you have the matching piece & need to complete the set.

NSDAP PARTY MEMBERSHIP BOOKLET FOR THE SA BAND-MEISTER OF STANDARTE 6 BERLIN-BRANDENBURG, AND THE OWNER OF AN SA HONOR DAGGER. Early 1927 issue booklet with 40 pages. Cover shows early eagle in gilt but most of it has long since faded and it is now hard to see. Booklet was actually issued in 1931 with a Schwarz stamp. Owners party number was in the 289,000 range so he was not entitled to the gold party badge. Owner was born in Helle in 1883 & when the booklet was issued was living near the Tiergarten in W. 35-Berlin. Owners photo shows him in civilian clothes. Dues stamps start in 1931 & continue until 1935. 1935 has the special Reichsparteitag stamp to indicate he participated in the rally that year. The best part are pages 22 & 23. Page 23 has a sticker showing his promotion to Obersturmfuhrer in Gruppe Berlin-Brandenburg on 20th. April 1934 (Hitler's birthday) Page 22 also has a sticker naming him as M/Z. Fuhrer of Standarte 6, Berlin-Brandenburg on 15. February 1932. Best of all, under that is a handwritten statement in Sutterlin script that on 6 April 1934, he was awarded the honor dagger of the SA. Complete with Standarte 6 Berlin-Brandenburg red rubber stamp.A word about this entry in Sutterlin script. Since I am not fluent in German & most of today's young German's cannot read Sutterlin script-you might ask how it was translated. Good question. My wife used to work for a German businessman here in California. He was highly educated & spoke several languages. When he was a teenager he was in the Hitler youth. Even he had a little trouble with it. However he came up with the following translation. 'Sturmfuhrer Georg Horst, Bandmaster of Standarte 6 belongs since 15. December 1929 without interruption to the Standarte, and has the right to carry the Honor Dagger which has been awarded by the Chief of Staff'. As a footnote even Goebbels himself stated in December 1940 'I begin by pleading for the abolition of the so-called German script. These days our children have to learn eight different alphabets. And our German script is a great barrier to German becoming a real world language'. RARE. RARE
NSDAP POLITICAL LEADERS BUCKLE. 2 piece alumium buckle complete with both belt keepers which have an oak leaf pattern running up their length. Front of the buckle is silver colored as are the oak leaf parts of the keeper. The back of the buckle is gold, as are the rest of the keepers. Looks as if somebody may have painted it silver at one time, although Angolia's book does mention silver colored buckles.

On the obvserse is the HJ emblem surmounted by a scroll with the words ‘Heim der Hitlerjugend’, (Home of the Hitler Youth) and on the reverse the inscription ‘Fur die Forderung der Heimbeschaffung der Hitler-Jugend’.
